As you drive down Front Beach Road you will see many attractions that pull your attention. One that is set back from the road, and you may miss is Gulf World. It is a wonderful park that offers great experiences for all ages! Gulf World has partnered with many local hotels, Days Inn, Beachside Resort, Hampton Inn & Suites, Seahaven Beach
Resort, Blue Swell Rental Properties. These places offer discounts on admissions and some interactive programs. So next time you have family coming to visit perhaps they can stay one of these hotels and capitalize on the discounts. The park opens at 10am daily and the closing hours change based on the season, currently they close at 3pm. The park is open on rain days, so grab an umbrella and go see the dolphins! The ticket prices are $32.99 for adults, $22.99 for children aged 5-11, children aged 4 and under are free. The parking lot in front offers free parking, if it is full there is a paid parking area in the back as well. Your general admission ticket gets you into the daily shows and the animal exhibits, and you get to pet the stingrays in Stingray Bay. The daily shows are updated seasonally, so you can plan a winter and a summer visit! There are snack bars in the park, please note outside food, drink, and coolers are not permitted in the park. There
is no limit on the amount of time that you spend in the park, the average time to take in the shows and enjoy the animal exhibits is about 3 hours. The park is handicap accessible, and strollers are allowed. Service animals are allowed. The park does not offer any kennel services for non-service animals, be sure to plan ahead for your pets that are vacationing with you.
There are multiple interactive programs, all of which will provide amazing experiences and unforgettable memories. While the interactive programs have separate charge they do all include general admission as well. So, you can go see the shows before or after your experience. Children aged 7-9 can enjoy the Dolphin Day Camp. Not only do they get to take a behind the scenes tour and interact with the animals, but they also get to enjoy a pizza lunch! This is just one of the 13 current interactive programs. For the more adventurous in your group there currently 6 different “Swim with the Dolphins” Adventures! The prices are different depending on which dolphin experience you choose. You can, touch, handshake, belly ride, Hug, Foot push, experience various interactions with the dolphins. A unique opportunity that makes this vacation memorable. Be sure to bring a swimsuit and towels. For the safety of the animal’s jewelry is not
allowed during any of the interactive programs. While Gulf world is a fantastic tourist spot, the locals love it too! Sundays are locals’ day! $15 off general admission and
$75 off a “Swim with the Dolphins” program. Gulf World is more than meets the eye. Gulf World Marine Institute, Inc. (GWMI) is an established 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of marine mammals and sea turtles in the Florida Panhandle. GWMI serves as the only long-term marine mammal rehabilitation and the largest sea turtle rehabilitation facility in Northern Florida. They provide short- and long-term rehabilitative care to animals. Over the years, the
stranding team has come to the aid of thousands of sick or debilitated stranded marine animals. Gulf World Marine Park, Inc. has participated in stranding work since 1970 and is considered one of the leading rehabilitation facilities in the stranding response network. You can become an adoptive parent of one of sea turtles currently being cared for. For a donation of $30 you will receive a 5×7 photo of your adopted animal, a certificate of adoption, information sheet with facts about your animal as well as a Gulf World Marine institute. You can gift an adoption as a gift and have the certificate with recipient’s name. Not only would it be a lovely gift, but you would be supporting the mission. When an animal has healed enough to be released back into the Gulf, you can be there to see it be released back to the wild.
